Sharon Zoffer

Obituary of Sharon S Zoffer

Sharon Silverman Zoffer, 77 years young, of Melbourne, Florida passed away on February 18, 2022. After weeks of suffering with a badly broken arm and six years with lung cancer, she was finally able to go to sleep peacefully. Sharon was born on March 13, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York to Toby and Sol Silverman. She went to Brooklyn College and began her career as a legal secretary. While at her cousin’s wedding, she met who would one day become her husband, Jesse. They married in 1966, moved to New Jersey soon thereafter and eventually moved to Florida for the remainder of their days. They were together until Jesse’s passing just three years ago. Two very strong, independent people somehow made marriage work for 52 years, although Jess joked about it being FIVE.HUNDRED.YEARS. Together, they had their son David (Burlington, NJ) and daughter Sheryl Kromash (Keith, Melbourne, FL), four beloved grandchildren Jayson, Peyton, Natalie and Jacob. The kids were the lights of their lives. Sharon was an avid reader and could remember any book, its title and story line. She spoke about books in her typical well-spoken ways. She was the funniest person you could ever meet, highly intelligent with a vocabulary that stumped most people, but down to earth that everyone felt comfortable in her presence. Sharon was an amazing cook, she enjoyed needlepoint and cross-stitch, she enjoyed outings with friends, time with her family, and most recently she became an Outlander fanatic. She found solace in the series (books and TV series), appreciated the cinematography, the costuming and let’s be honest, Jamie. Sharon is also survived by her beloved sister Loretta Silver, niece Debra Sloane and many relatives and friends who were like her family. She also leaves behind new friends from her neighborhood who became like family and were a wonderful support to her in the two short years she lived there. We will feel her absence deeply. Donations can be made in her honor and beautiful memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Donor line is 800 822-6344. 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
