Obituary of Katie McWhorter Muckerman

Katie McWhorter Muckerman passed away on February 15, 2024, following a lengthy illness. She will be greatly missed by everyone whose life she touched. Katie was born in Pensacola, Florida on January 30, 1963, and moved to Brevard County with her family in 1991. She was a loving wife and mother who is survived by many family members and friends who loved her dearly. She is survived by her loving mother Karyn Scapin Suskind, stepfather Michael Suskind, and stepfather George Overby, all of Pensacola, Florida. She was preceded in death by her dear father, Michael John McWhorter. She was also preceded by her dear great aunt, Suzy Greene. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law John and Wendi McWhorter, whom she cherished. She is also survived by her entire immediate family including her husband, Christopher Andrew Muckerman, and children Ashley Nicole Olcott, Andrew Michael Muckerman, Alexander Joseph Muckerman, and Allison Anne Muckerman, all of whom loved her with all their hearts. She is also survived by grandchildren Taylyn, Taryn, Tanner, and Troy, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, all of whom loved her dearly. Katie was a shining light who will be fondly remembered by many. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 23^rd, 2024 at Advent Lutheran Church, 7550 North Wickham Road, with Pastor Alisha Ungs officiating. In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
