Obituary of Gerald Stuart Watson

Gerald Stuart Watson, age 86, passed away on December 13, 2023 of Viera, FL formerly of Boca Raton, FL and Buffalo, NY.

A devoted husband of 59 years to Mary Jane (Vacco) and loving father of Cathy Watson.

Survived by siblings Elaine Bogart, Janice Polisoto, Richard (Nancy) Watson, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Gerald S. Watson, Jr., parents Esther Mildred (Brown) and Stuart John Watson, sisters Carol Watson, Bernice Cobb and Lois Vail.

Mr. Watson proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1955-1959 and continued to serve in the United States Air Force Reserve until his honorable discharge in 1967. He was a graduate of Riverside High School in Buffalo, NY, as well as Buffalo State College and Harvard Business School. He worked in the banking industry as an executive with the Marine Midland Bank in Buffalo, NY, a vice-president for the Shawmut Bank in Boston, MA and retired as an executive vice-president at BankAtlantic in South Florida.

A burial service will be held on Monday January 8, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. at Boca Raton Cemetery and Mausoleum located at 451 SW 4th Avenue, Boca Raton, FL commencing with a prayer service in the Remembrance Chapel. Special thanks to Beckman-Williamson Funeral Homes of Viera, FL for preparations and coordination of the burial in Boca Raton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Special Olympics or your favorite veterans charity
