Obituary of William Henry Campbell

William (Bill) Henry Campbell, Rockledge, went home to his Lord and Savior on November 26, 2023, at 85, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved father of 4 children, William (Bill) Serafica, David Campbell, Rhonda (Campbell) McMillen, and William (Jr) Campbell. Bill had five grandchildren, which he loved with all his heart. Bill was Born in Woodland, ME, on November 20, 1938. He grew up on a potato farm in northern Maine with his sister and two brothers. He joined the Army and spent three years in Germany, where he learned to operate a crane. In 1960, he moved to Brevard County, Florida, and started Campbells Crane Service on a handshake agreement, which is still in operation today. This speaks to the type of man he was. Bill loved his “work” and always had a get-er-done attitude. He was the man you called if no one wanted to “help” you, whether it be setting trusses, A/C unit blind lifts, or work before or in a storm. He did not mind giving the job site guys a “needed” ride to the top of a building or setting them straight. Some might call him a legend. Bill enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up, attending all their events, helping anyone in need, eating, going to Maine, and riding ATVs. The funeral for Bill will be held Friday, December 22, 2023, at 4 pm Faith Lutheran Church, 280 East Merritt Avenue in Merritt Island, followed by a reception at 5 pm. The family will lay Bill to rest on December 28, 2023, at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to Aging Matters in Brevard – 3600 W. King Street, Suite 4, Cocoa, FL, 32926 or a charity of your choice.
