Ursula Wilson

Obituary of Ursula Wilson

Ursula Wilson died November 30, 2023. Born 1935 in Selbitz/Oberfranken, Germany, youngest daughter of Hans and Rosalie Bodenschatz, she graduated school and worked there until she came to the U.S. in 1963 with her military husband.

As a loyal, resiliant military wife, she served with her husband for over 23 years at: Hof, Germany; Keesler AFB, MS; Taipei, Taiwan; Bitburg, Germany; Langley AFB, VA; McCoy AFB, Orlando, FL, and Patrick AFB, FL..

She learned English, raised three children, moved constantly, ran an immaculate household, actively supported her husband’s career, endured difficult duty separations, and held the fort for several years while her husband attended night school preparing for civilian life.
Upon leaving the military in 1985, she continued to be a great asset to her husband in his new career managing trade associations. She always traveled with him on business trips and helped further his career. She enjoyed traveling and was a welcome addition to any gathering.

Ursula was a gourmet cook, a lovingly strict mother, a doting grandmother, a loyal friend, a cheerful companion, a champion of the underdog, a quietly tenacious competitor, and a beautiful person, both inside and out. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Challenged by the mixed joy and sorrow of handicapped son Mike, she fiercely did everything possible to love, help and protect him until his untimely death.

She is survived by spouse Samuel who has loved her deeply since 1961, her beloved daughters Martina Bergeron (Paul) and Lorna Goodman, grandchildren Christopher Bergeron (Shannon), Chelsea, Colby, Alyse, and Colton Goodman (Alpine, UT). She was preceded in death by her father Johannes, mother Rosalie, beloved son Mike Thomas and sister Hanna.

Serene in her belief in God, Ursula was quietly devout in her faith and prayed regularly for those she loved.
