Irene Paratore

Obituary of Irene Maria Paratore

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Irene Maria Paratore, 82, who entered into eternal life peacefully on October 6, 2023, surrounded by her loving husband and children in Viera, Florida. Irene was born on September 26, 1941 in Chorrillos, Lima, Peru to Santos and Maria Concepcion (Inguanse) Alejos. She led a wonderful life, full of adventures and lived life to the fullest.

Irene and her husband, Salvador (Sal) married on February 8, 1964 in Newburgh, NY, planting their roots in New Windsor, NY where they raised their three children. During this time, Irene became a U.S citizen and worked hard together with her husband to give their family a beautiful life. During her employment with IBM Corporation, the family relocated to Los Angeles, CA in 1980. Irene and Sal eventually retired to Melbourne, FL in 2003 where they lived their best lives. She traveled to many countries in Europe, with Italy being her favorite, and she enjoyed meeting and spending time with extended family in Sicily who adored her. Retirement also meant spending more time with her six grandchildren who were the loves of her life and brought her so much happiness.

Irene found strength and comfort in her Catholic faith. She was a loyal and faithful parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Viera, FL. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother (Nonna), sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend who was always there for us whenever we needed love, laughter, and support. She loved music and dancing, always being the first on the dance floor. She also spent countless hours outdoors tending to her beautiful garden.

Irene is survived by the love of her life and husband of almost 60 years, Salvador Paratore, of Melbourne, FL; Son, Salvador R. Paratore, Melbourne, FL; Daughter, Diana Guzman (Robert), Deland, FL; Daughter, Monica Troutner (Todd), Fairfax, VA; Grandchildren: Alessandra Palen (Christopher), Marissa Guzman, Andrew Troutner, Raquel Guzman, Salvador A. Paratore, and Nicholas Paratore; Sister Digna Ormeno (Enrique), brother-in-law, Paco Paratore (Susan), along with many wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Santos and Maria Concepcion Alejos and her brother, Jorge Alejos.

A private viewing for Irene will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 for immediate family, with a Catholic mass celebrating Irene’s life at Noon at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 5655 Stadium Parkway, Viera, FL 32940. There will be a luncheon immediately following the mass in the parish hall.
