Obituary of Sylvia Mary Tozzi

Sylvia Mary Tozzi, 84, entered eternal life peacefully on September 21, 2023, surrounded by many loved ones, in Rockledge, Florida. She was born on September 30, 1938, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Edmond and Inez Bruce. Sylvia was a kind, sweet, selfless, and loving woman who dedicated her life to her family, faith and community.

Sylvia had a passion for education and spent many years as a preschool teacher and school bus driver. She touched the lives of countless children and will be remembered for her patience, gentle nature and dedication.

In her free time, Sylvia enjoyed painting, gardening, scrapbooking, and cooking. She found joy in creating beautiful artwork, tending to her garden, preserving memories through scrapbooking, and preparing delicious meals for her loved ones.

Sylvia was a faithful member of Ascension Catholic Church in Melbourne, FL, where she found solace and strength in her Catholic faith.

Sylvia was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. She later married Tom and raised their family in Picayune, MS. Later in life she and Tom lived in the mountains of Northern Idaho and Southwest Montana, where they enjoyed many outdoor activities and the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Their final years were lived out in Rockledge, FL. These were some of the happiest times in her life as she was near her only grandchild and her siblings and their families.

She is survived by her sons, Brother Daniel Mary Tozzi of Detroit, MI, and Stephen David Tozzi (Kimberly) of Rockledge, FL; siblings Ralph David Bruce of New Orleans, LA, and Yvonne Koch of West Palm Beach, FL; and grandson Thomas Daniel Tozzi of Rockledge, FL. Sylvia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas John Tozzi, her parents, and her brother, Edmond James Bruce.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 4th, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00 at Ascension Catholic Church, 2950 N Harbor City Blvd., Melbourne, FL 32935 in Melbourne, FL, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00. There will be a catered lunch after at the River Way Condominium clubhouse. Beckman Williamson Funeral Home in Rockledge, FL, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Sylvia Mary Tozzi will be deeply missed by her family and friends, whose lives she touched in many ways. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
