Obituary of Stuart (Stu) James Henderson

Stuart (Stu) James Henderson (53) of Cocoa Beach, FL, left this world suddenly on July 1, 2023, after being struck by a motor vehicle.

Stu is survived by his loving mother, Stephanie Henderson, his brother Steve and his wife Maria. He is also survived by his nieces, Kayla and McKenzie, and his nephews, Ryan and Michael.

Stu is predeceased by his father, George Jay Henderson.

Stu was born in Orange City, California and then came to Cocoa Beach, FL at the age of 2, as his father was an engineer at Kennedy Space Center. At the age of 9, Stu and his family moved to Nagoya, Japan due to his father’s job. Stu attended Nagoya International School (NIS) until 1987 when he returned to Cocoa Beach, Florida. Stu spent his senior year at Cocoa Beach High School. Stu went on to attend the University of Florida, where he graduated with his Bachelor of Arts Degree. Stu took advanced classes at Harvard University and had been admitted to Columbia University’s Master of Arts program.

Using his bilingual skills, Stu worked as an interpreter and translator until his untimely passing.

Stu loved the outdoors, fishing and especially the beach, where he spent many years surfing. He had a strong passion for reading and learning, spending most of his free time studying and learning new things. He was a brilliant writer. Stu, and his infectious smile, will be deeply missed.
