Bob and I went back to the early fifties when our fathers met on the streets of downtown cocoa. Willard saw our Ohio license plates and inquired where we were from. Bobs family had relocated from warren a few years before. My dad responded that we were from Marion, Ohio but having trouble finding a suitable place to stay for winter vacation.we must have seemed okay to bobs dad . Willard, who gave us directions to his house…just go north here on the Indian river road and it’s the first house on McFarland. Our older son just got married and you can have hi# room, if Margaret agrees. It was on that very open and trusting premise that over a lifetime of the best friendships ever grew and prospered. Bob and I are the last of the second generation of that magnificent lifetime bonding. The Wilsons and Hinklins were better than friends, we all considered each other family. Bob carried out that tradition splendidly in his many, many close ties with the public. Even on an occasional phone call in recent years, bob and I immediately connected and continued the lifelong close friendship so typical of our families. Glad that Bob had such a good and long and joyous life. I’ll miss him,mom . We all will. Yet I am encouraged that bob is once again reunited with Vivian and all of his family that went on before , and I’ll just get that those strong connections with the Hinklins are also well reestablished.
