Obituary of Evelyn Puleo

Evelyn passed away peacefully on July 28^th, 2023. She was born in Claxton, Ga. on August 23, 1930, the youngest of her family.

Predecease by her husband of 69 years, John “Rudy” Puleo, mother, Pearl Sapp, sisters Blanche, Melrose, Verda, brothers Rep & Clayton.

Survived by her sons Paul Puleo (Cheryl), Rudy Puleo (Clara), granddaughter Alysha Lynne Green (Stephen), grandsons Jonathan Paul Puleo, Rudy Keys Puleo, Vinny Puleo & great granddaughter Amberly Lynne Green.

Evelyn moved from Georgia to Tampa with her mother, where she attended high school & met her husband John Rudy during his college years. John & Evelyn were married in Tampa on August 22, 1952. Nine years later, John moved the family to Phoenix, Arizona after accepting a position with NASA. After living in Phoenix for 5 years he accepted a position with NASA at Kennedy Space Center & settled in Cocoa Beach to raise the Puleo family.

Evelyn enjoyed bingo, travelling to Las Vegas with her husband Rudy & watching Paul & Rudy play baseball as her boys grew up.

Evelyn was a stay-at-home mother most of her life but after her boys were grown, she owned & operated Evelyn’s Beauty Salon in Cocoa Beach for a number of years before finally selling her shop to retire.

After retirement, Evelyn enjoyed watching her granddaughter, Alysha, play tennis for Cocoa Beach High School and Florida Southern College. Evelyn looked forward to watching grandsons Rudy, Vinny and Jonathan play tennis for Cocoa Beach High School . Evelyn could be heard cheering from the bleachers as grandsons Vinny and Jonathan played basketball for Cocoa Beach High School and as they played baseball for Space Coast Little League.

Evelyn and Rudy enjoyed their weekly date night on the Casino Cruise ship at Port Canaveral until they were no longer able take the late nights.

Evelyn loved Rudy, sons and grandchildren but it was her greart granddaughter Amberly whom she addored.

Evelyn will be missed by family & friends, but we take solace knowing that she is with her husband John & predeceased family members in heaven looking down on us all now.

We love you & will miss you always mom!

Memorial services for Evelyn will be Saturday August 26^th , 2023, 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at Beckman Williamson Funeral Home , Cocoa Beach. Following the memorial service Evelyn will be laid to rest along side her husband Rudy at Our Saviors Catholic Church, Cocoa Beach Florida.

A Celebration of Life for Evelyn will be Saturday August 26, 2023,  3:00 p.m.to 6:00 p.m. at the home of Paul and Cheryl Puleo.
