Obituary of Sara Marie Baker

Sara Marie Baker, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Friend died peacefully at home on May 10th, 2023, at the young age of 27.

Sara was a loving and compassionate woman who was dedicated to Jesus and her family as well as bringing joy, regardless of how big or small the impact on people’s lives. She was a brave warrior who never let her illness slow her down.

She is survived by her mother, Carol Ann (Coneys) Baker;  father, Kenneth Allen Baker; sisters: Danielle Marie Dobrowsky and Maria Christina Baker, as well as aunts, uncles, her niece, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by her grandmother Cecelia H. (Zebrowski) Coneys, Grandfather John P. Coneys, Grandmother Monica H. Raymond, and  Grandfather Joseph L. Baker.

Sara Baker was born on November 23rd, 1995 in Nashua, New Hampshire. She graduated from Viera High School in 2015.

Sara was strong in her fight against kidney disease. Sara’s battle started at the age of  7,  and since then, experienced at least one hundred surgeries, procedures, hospital stays, doctor’s appointments, and dialysis treatments.

At the age of 9, she received her first kidney transplant, donated by her mother. Her first transplant lasted 13 years. In 2018, she went into kidney failure for the second time and after three years of dialysis at 26, she received her second kidney transplant. Despite the numerous complications, Sara was a warrior and a survivor, she never let her illness outshine her positivity and love.

Sara was a lover of all things, nature, and animals. Music was important to her as she was always listening to and singing her favorite songs, often expressing her faith. An avid foodie, she enthusiastically explored different restaurants to eat from. She will always be remembered for her incredible individuality, big smile, bubbly self, and bright personality. She had a strong passion for advocating for kidney disease and organ donation as well as spreading faith and love. To show her love,  Sara was known for the thoughtful gifts she would give, especially in the form of surprises.  She was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, and niece. Sara’s strong will, yet loving and caring presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her from close and afar.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3-6 pm, Friday, May 19th at Heritage Isle Club House Located at 7300 Legacy Blvd Melbourne FL 32940

Funeral Services will begin at 11 am, Tuesday, May 23rd, at Ascension Catholic Church, located at 2950 N Harbor City Blvd, Melbourne, FL. Burial will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens, located at 5950 US-1, Rockledge, FL.  Reception to follow beginning at 2 pm at Heritage Isle Club House  7300 Legacy Blvd Melbourne FL 32940
