Obituary of Janice Lee Greenwood

Janice “Jan” L. Greenwood passed away peacefully on September 17, 2022 at the age of 96 in Viera, Florida surrounded by family. Jan was born May 7, 1926 in Baltimore, Maryland to Carl W. H. and Thelma Rau Ganz. After graduating from Towson High School, Jan attended Western Maryland College and graduated with a degree in English in 1948. Jan married Samuel H. Greenwood in 1948 after he returned from World War II with the 505th Bombardment Group. Together they had 3 children: Tara and twins, Robert and William. Prior to moving to Indian River Colony Club (IRCC) in 2004, Jan and her husband lived in Queenstown, Maryland where she enjoyed sailing, boating, traveling, reading, and playing bridge. She is survived by two of her children, Tara (nee Greenwood) and Rodney Schultz of Hot Spring, South Dakota and Robert and Patricia Greenwood of Viera, Florida, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Samuel and her son, William. A funeral service is scheduled privately for family at Florida Memorial Gardens.
