Obituary of Dorothy Washenko

DOROTHY WASHENKO, age 92, died peacefully at home surrounded by her daughter JoAnne and son in law Bob. Dorothy was born in Yonkers, NY on July 20, 1929 daughter to the late Onufry Dzilinka and Anna Chelak and was the youngest of 8 children. None survive. She is survived by her daughter, JoAnne (Robert Post) her granddaughter Allyson (Edward Scott Davis) of Sugar Hill, Georgia and her great-grandsons James and Andrew along with several nieces/nephews and grandnieces and nephews. Dorothy grew up in Yonkers, New York and graduated from Commerce High School and had worked for Ciba Geigy as an import manager and retired after 30 years. Dorothy was a snow bird for about 4 years before moving to Florida full time in 2012 and living with JoAnne and Bob. Dorothy loved to travel, read and watch her favorite sports team, the New York Yankees Visitation will be held Friday May 27, 2022 at 9:15 – 10:00am with services immediately following at St John the Evangelist Church, 5655 Stadium Parkway, Rockledge, Florida Internment will be at Florida Memorial Gardens at 11:30am.
