Obituary of William Yoh, Sr

Biography William (Bill) Harry Yoh, Sr., 83, Rockledge, FL, entered into rest Dec. 25, 2009 at Wuesthoff Hospice Care Unit in Rockledge, FL. Born Mar. 5, 1926, in Sinking Spring, Bill was the son of the late Goldie Mae (Naftzger) Yoh and Luther Wellington Yoh. He spent the majority of his life in Robesonia, PA and was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Graduating from Robesonia H.S. in 1943, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944. He served as a naval signalman in WW II (1944-46) and the Korean War (1951-52). Bill was proud to serve his country, receiving the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, and Victory Medal. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Bill worked as a tool and dye maker at Textile Machine Works (later known as Arrow International) in Wyomissing. He retired in 1988 and relocated to Bradenton, FL with his late wife, Sylvia May (Boyer) Yoh. Bill Sr. was an active fifty year member of the Masonic Order and past master of the Williamson Lodge, Womelsdorf in 1963. He was a member of the Rajah Shrine of Reading and Sahib Shrine in Sarasota, FL, where he played trumpet and served as president of the Sahib Concert Band. Bill is survived by his son William H. Yoh, Jr. and his wife Colleen Mary (Ryan) Yoh (Rockledge, FL). In addition, he leaves his granddaughter Olivia Elaine Yoh. He will be missed by many loving relatives and lifelong friends. William Sr. will always be recognized for his gentle, caring demeanor, and will be remembered as a man who always wanted to assist individuals or organizations in any way he could. Arrangements will be handled by Beckman - Williamson Funeral Home (Viera, FL) and Lamm & Witman Funeral Home (Wernersville, PA). A Masonic funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday Dec. 31st at the Hain's Church Cemetery, Wernersville internment site. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Williamson Lodge, P. O. Box 36, Womelsdorf, PA 19567, or the Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse, 300 Brevard Avenue, Cocoa, FL 32922.
