Although we didn't know him, we recognized his picture from our tour, and recalled the special experience he allowed us. He was so very informative, and just a real pleasure to show us around. I'm sure his family, friends and coworkers will miss him immensely. Our thoughts are with you all!!

I just want to say that I feel privilaged to have known such a wonderful man. I know he was a blessing to so many of us throughout the years. I can't fully understand why, as many of us are asking, however, I can say he was an angel just passing through and touching so many along his path to the glory land. This isn't the end for Steve(Shamu) as we see it, but, only the beginning of a beautiful life for him. I pray that each one of us can take something from Steve that has made an impact on us and follow that same path, only to reunite some day with him. God bless you Sara. You made him so happy as he did you. Know that his spirit will live on with you each day as you continue to "shine on". Love You! BFF

I cannot even tell you what a loss this is to me; I loved/respected him and I cannot even think of one person that even comes close to the man he became and the legacy he leaves behind. He went on with a very busy life and still managed to work all the way through is Masters Degree. As I watched the Shuttle Roll Out this morning there was a terrible emptiness because "Shamu" was there for the first one and almost made it to the last five launches.I am trying to build a rocket stand in his back yard (VAB) for the ARES/Constellation program as the shuttle rolls by on its way to the pad for the next mission this morning, and in parallel think of the International Space Station, our plight for moon/mars missions. Well "Shamu" you just went light years ahead of us through all our galaxies to be with Christ our Savior at his LCC (Life Control Center). Love you (Uncle Shamu)Uncle Bub (Tom La Forge)

Steve touched so many lives with his giving heart and soul, but what I will always remember and be grateful for is his love for Sara. As all of us who knew him, she truly was the love of his life. He truly was an Angel and will be watching over her forever.
