Obituary of David C. Brotemarkle

David C. Brotemarkle, 77, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Wuesthoff Hospital in Rockledge, Florida. Born October 8, 1931, in Cambridge, Maryland, he was a retired USAF Lt. Colonel, a successful businessman, and a respected educator. He lived in the Indian River Colony Club community in Viera. David was the beloved husband of Anna Flowers Brotemarkle, loving father of Belle (Bill) Schumann and Ben (Chris) Brotemarkle, and proud grandfather of Alex and Ben Schumann. David will be missed by family members and many friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 11, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, 5400 Village Drive, Viera. Funeral services will be at the same location Wednesday, August 12, at 10:00 a.m. Interment with full military honors will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Veteran's Administration Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Florida Historical Society, 435 Brevard Avenue, Cocoa, FL 32922 where a memorial will be established in his name.
