Obituary of Melba Brown

Melba Brown, 74, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Cape Canaveral Hospital. A native of Florida, Melba was born in Ft. Myers on March 9, 1935. She later married and moved to Thonotosassa, FL, where she raised her four children and enjoyed being a substitute teacher. Melba and her husband, James retired and moved to Lake City. For the past five years, Melba has been residing in Merritt Island with her daughters. Her happiest moments were spending time with family and friends. She was an active member of the Thonotosassa Lions Club. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James; their children Suzanne and her husband Phillip Arnold, Cindy Friedman, Katherine Brown, Jason and his wife Kim Brown; granddaughters, Amanda Arnold and her fiancé Danny Morris, Kayla Friedman, Brittany Brown; sister, Sue and her husband Bob Orri; and many other loving family and friends. A gathering for family and friends will be, 1pm on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 with a celebration of life to follow at 2pm.at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home in Cocoa Beach
