Obituary of Anthony Joseph Serpe, Sr.

Anthony Joseph Serpe Sr. passed away on February 4th, 2024 in Cocoa Beach, FL. at the age of 87.

Anthony was born in Wilmington Delaware on 11/11/1936 and was the son of Italian immigrants Domenico and Lucille Serpe. He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1958 as a Military Police and rank of Specialist Third Class and was also stationed in Germany. Anthony married the love of his life Millie in 1962 and joined the family business with his parents and operated the Legendary Serpe's Bakery in Wilmington Delaware along with his brothers where he was a Baker, Pastry Chef, Decorator and Office Manager. The family-owned Italian Bakery was established in 1952 and has been in business for more than 70 years

Anthony was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Blessed Sacrament Council where he rose to the rank of 4th degree holding the title of Sir Knight.

After retiring from the bakery in 1999, he and Millie relocated to Florida where they enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman and mariner who always enjoyed being on the water.

Anthony was a member of The Church of our Saviour in Cocoa Beach Florida.

He is survived by his wife Millie of 61 years, his three children, Suzanne, Tony Jr., and Andrea, his three grandchildren, Angelina, Joseph, and Sean, two great grandchildren Sadie and Jaxon and three brothers Richie, Tommy, and Dominic. He was preceded in death by his parents Domenico and Lucille, brothers Joseph and Donald.

Anthony was an amazing father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, and mentor to all who knew him. He was a man that you instantly liked when you met him and a person you never forgot. He always made quality time talking with you and never forgot who you were. His infectious smile and excitement for life were contagious and he will truly be missed by all his friends and family.

Services will be held on Friday, 2/16/24 from 10am to 10:30am followed by a Christian Mass at 10:30 am:
