Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Ehlers
Elizabeth A. Ehlers, age 79, of Jefferson, SD, entered fully into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the Sonata Viera Assisted Living Home in Melbourne, FL. She was the loving wife of an Army Vietnam Veteran and kept her family grounded, safe and loved while her husband performed his patriotic duty. She enjoyed military life and saw much of the United States and the world during their many moves together. Her family was her everything. There was never a day where she didn’t brag about her beloved four children and nine grandchildren. She lived a life of faith and loved the Catholic Church and God with her entire being. Selfless to a fault, every moment of her existence revolved around worrying for and helping others. She was the most loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, neighbor and friend.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, Mathias and Stella Kirsch; her siblings, Dale Kirsch and Madonna Myler; her grandson, Matthew Ehlers. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Robert; three sons, Barry Ehlers of Los Angeles, CA, David Ehlers of Viera, FL, and Matthew Ehlers of Birmingham, AL; daughter, Christina Karsten of Mary Esther, FL; nine grandchildren, Kyle, Kodi, Brooke, Jonny, Tatyanna, Sam, Grace, Michael, and Zander; two brothers Vic Kirsch of Jacksonville, FL and Larry Kirsch of Jacksonville, FL.
A memorial service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Melbourne, FL on Saturday, April 29th at 11:00 am. Donations in Lieu of Flowers may be made to St. Francis Reflections Lifestage Care in Brevard County: https://reflectionslsc.org/donate/
“Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help, or sought your intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in your mercy, hear and answer me.”To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Elizabeth Ehlers, please visit Tribute Store
