Obituary of Faye Salter

Faye Arlene (Saylor) Salter joined her Heavenly Father on March 11th, 2023. Faye was born in London Ontario, Canada on August 14th, year unknown (as it is widely known that mom would come back to haunt whomever spilled her secret!).

Faye met Larry Salter while attending Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. She was in the choir and worked as a student secretary for the football coach. While working, Faye’s attention was drawn to the team’s tight end, Larry. Faye, being very progressive, asked Larry for a date, however, he said no because he had a football game that night! Not to be deterred, Faye finally got her date and eventually, her man! On December 20th, 1955 Faye and Larry were married.

Fast forward several years, Faye and Larry grew their family having three sons, Tim, Jeff and Matt. Deciding more was merrier, they expanded by adopting three girls, Kippie, Kim, and Tracy. Over the years, her family kept growing with 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

The countless animals that joined the family are too numerous to mention but animals were a great love and passion for Faye. At one time, she kept her horse Cocoa in the corral of their backyard while living in Huntsville. She also volunteered at the Brevard Zoo. Faye’s current canine baby or her 7th child, as Faye would say, Sweet Nugget, will miss her greatly.

Throughout her life, Faye had tremendous faith and commitment to God and her church, The Community of Christ in Palm Bay, FL. She was a very active member, sharing her gift of music and prayer.

Faye is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Larry Salter and her children: Tim Salter and wife Abao, Jeff Salter and wife Becky, Matt Salter and wife Karen, daughters Kippie Salter, Kim Salter and partner Tony Hansard and Tracy Salter. She is also survived by her brother, Norman Saylor. Faye will be deeply missed by her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and her friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, March 15th, 2023 at Beckman and Williamson Funeral Home, 5400 Village Dr, Rockledge, FL. 32955. Gathering at 5pm, service at 6pm.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the ASPCA would be greatly appreciated.
