Obituary of Judy Annette McCullough

Judith “Judy” Annette McCullough of Melbourne, Florida passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023, due to complications from a stroke. She was 80 years old.

Judy was born in Brunswick County, North Carolina near Ash to Liston A. and Margie D. Long. She attended Waccamaw School and graduated from there in 1960. Later she met and married the High School Math teacher Albert “Mack” C. McCullough of Whitmire, South Carolina. They were married in Conway, South Carolina on February 23, 1962. Judy and Mack were married 33 years until his death in 1995. She never remarried.

Judy was a devoted wife and mother. She was warm, kind, caring, and generous. Judy was best known for her sense of humor despite her many battles with cancer.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Liston and Margie Long, her husband Albert C. McCullough, and her brother Danny A. Long. She is survived by her two sisters Sarah L. Tripp and Agnes M. Hewett both of Shallotte, North Carolina. She is also survived by her two daughters Lee Ann McCullough-Wham, son-in-law Jimmy G. Wham of Cocoa, and Tina C. Swanson, and son-in-law Michael T. Swanson. Judy will be greatly missed by her 5 grandchildren; Evan W., Bethany W., Eric S., Todd S., and Aubrey W.

Her family will miss her dearly but knows she rests free from pain or suffering. A small Celebration of Life will be held on March 1, 2023, at Beckman & Williamson Funeral Home in Rockledge at 6:30 pm. Judy will be interred next to her husband in Newberry, South Carolina at a later date to be determined.
