Obituary of Mary Ann Risteen

Mary Ann (Hood) Risteen was born April 29, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio. She passed away peacefully on December 30, 2022. She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Donald E. Risteen Jr., sons, Ryan and Dane Risteen, stepdaughter, Vickie Risteen Sferlazzo, and her brothers, Thomas Hood, James Hood, and John Hood. She was preceded in death by her son, Shawn Risteen, stepson, Donnie Risteen, brother, William Hood III, and beloved parents, William II and Mary Anne (McManus) Hood. Mary began her career as a flight attendant with Eastern Airlines in 1968, where she met the love of her life, her husband Don, who was a pilot with Eastern. In the early 80’s, she went back to school to become a Certified Respiratory Therapist at Holy Cross Hospital in Pompano Beach, FL. She loved traveling the world, socializing with people, and found great joy in breeding and raising Shih Tzu puppies. She loved and cared deeply. She was kind, generous, and always welcoming. She had the gift of making people feel loved and appreciated. A mass to celebrate her life will be held at Our Savior Catholic Church in Cocoa Beach at 1pm on Friday February 3, 2023.
