Obituary of Mary Margaret Peggy Koper Karpinski

Mary Margaret "Peggy" Koper Karpinski, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and ascended to be with the angels on September 17, 2022 in Orlando, FL. Grandmama Peggy spent 76 wonderful years spreading happiness to those around her. A comfort to many and a joy to all, most of her time was spent taking care of her family, her friends and her community. Peggy was born on October 3, 1945 in Brownwood, Texas, the daughter of Dorothea Rosemary Johnson and James Vincent Koper. In 1963, she graduated from North Kingstown High School in Rhode Island and began attending the University of Rhode Island. After graduation, Peggy enjoyed her work as an elementary school teacher in Rhode Island, Georgia and Panama. She also enjoyed her time working in the cruise industry for Premier Cruise Lines and later as a purser on the Star of Texas. Peggy was married for 15+ years to Kenneth Karpinski. In 1981, Peggy, Ken and their daughter Jamie moved to Florida and made their home in Brevard County. Peggy was a devout Catholic her whole life and very active in the Church of Our Saviour Catholic community in Cocoa Beach. Peggy was a master of making holidays extra special, hosting incredible themed parties and celebrating the successes of those she loved. She was also an avid traveler, collector of international dolls and presented an amazing themed Christmas tree display in her home every year. When Peggy wasn't working or volunteering at the church, she could be found practicing many styles of dancing; especially square dancing, line dancing, round dancing and ballroom dancing. Not a day went by where Peggy didn't talk about how much her grandchildren and family meant to her -- her family was definitely a crowning achievement in life. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter Jamie (Chris) Marshall, her granddaughters Cordelia and Felicia, her sister Carol (Denny) Marge, nephews Christian and Casey Marge and many beloved extended family and caring friends. A loving and wonderful woman until the very end, she will be greatly missed. We request all of Peggy's family and friends join us in celebrating her beautiful life on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Church of Our Saviour for a funeral mass and interment at 10:30 AM followed by a celebration of life in the Angel room adjacent to the church. FINDAGRAVE ID 243670081 The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Innovation Montessori Ocoee or the National Kidney Foundation in Peggy's memory. ***************************************** Church of Our Saviour 5301 N.
