Obituary of Ernest Anthony Arico Jr.

Ernest Anthony Arico, Jr., local journalist and educator from Melbourne, Florida will forever be remembered in our hearts since his passing on August 27, 2022. He was 67. Whether Ernie was in the newsroom writing, editing, or producing, at the local college or high school teaching, or coaching on the tennis court, Ernie strived to make a positive impact by helping others in the community. He was an avid reader who shared his love of literature with all and a true lifelong New York Yankees and Jets fan. As a Marist College graduate in 1976 with a bachelor’s in Communication and as the Florida Chapter President for Marist College Alumni, Ernie helped bring the Red Fox Family together. He was a devoted Catholic and longtime parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Church. Above all, Ernie had the greatest love for his family and friends. He is survived by his parents Ernest A. Arico, Sr. and Gloria Arico, his wife Leodilyn Carillo Arico, brother Ronald R. Arico and partner Nancy Cimino, sister Janice Arico and spouse Ingrid Narken, his children, grandchildren, and the many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Services will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022, with a visitation at 4:00 p.m. followed by a mass at 5:00 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 5565 Stadium Parkway, Melbourne, Fl 32940.
