Obituary of Michael Alan Krane

Michael Alan Krane 73, of Melbourne Florida passed away suddenly on August 15, 2022. Born in Brooklyn New York March 21, 1949. Mike met his wife Fran in high school. He attended Alfred University undergrad then University of Pennsylvania Dental School where he received a DMD. He joined the Air Force soon after graduation and was stationed all around the country, as well as Okinawa Japan for 3 years and then back to the states. Soon after returning back to the states, he and his wife moved to Catskill, NY where they resided with their daughter Elyse for over 25 years. Mike worked for New York State for 20+ years as the General Dentist and continued with the active Air Force Reserves for all those years until his retirement. After retirement they moved to Melbourne, Florida where they resided for the past 11 years. Mike was a devoted husband and father and loyal friend to many. He was a kind and gentle soul, who brightened the lives of everyone he knew and had a great sense of humor. He had many hobbies including spending time with his beloved cats, his many collections as well as reading history books, traveling and birding. Mike was an enthusiastic Star Trek fan and attended many conventions meeting his favorite stars along with his wife and daughter. Survivors include his wife of almost 49 years Francine and his daughter Elyse (Edward) Natenberg. His brother Joel (Evie) Krane, brother-in-law Lewis (Sandi) Wunderlich along with Nieces; Melissa Krane (Stan Lee), Susan (David) Kachurak, Gwen Wunderlich and Nephew Eric Wunderlich Funeral Services will be held Sunday August 21st at 11:30am at Shalom Memorial Chapels in Smithtown NY followed by burial at New Montefiore Cemetery in West Babylon, NY. Shiva visiting hours will be Monday and Tuesday from 4:30pm-7:30pm with Shiva Minyan at 7pm at Elyse and Edward’s home in Wynantskill, NY. Donations can be made to either the American Heart Association or to your local humane society.
