Obituary of Joseph Norman Forte

Rockledge — Joseph Norman Forte, 91, died Monday, July 11, 2022 at the Palm Cottages Memory Care Facility in Rockledge following a prolonged illness. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Vera Forte. He leaves behind his daughter, Renee Rowan; two grandchildren; two great-grand children; nieces and nephews, cousins; and many close friends. Born and raised in Elizabeth, PA, the son of Samuel Forte and Rose Covelli, he stayed in Elizabeth until he joined the Army to serve his country and traveled the world. Mr. Forte met his wife while he was stationed in Berlin. After serving 20 years with the Army, Mr. Forte joined Xerox Corp in Pittsburgh, PA. He remained with the company until he retired and moved to the sunshine state permanently. He was a proud member of various organizations including the Elks and American Legion. Mr. Forte loved dogs and had various breeds over the years. He showed one of his short haired pointers receiving several ribbons for her abilities. An avid camper, he traveled the entire continent of the US with his wife and dogs in the a motorhome visiting sights, large and small, collecting many friends along the way. Some of his favorite hobbies were winter & summer camping, snowmobiling, motorcycles, Carribean cruises, and trips to Europe. Services were held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at a later date.
