Obituary of Harvey Joseph Smith
Harvey Joseph Smith passed away on September 25, 2021. Born October 24, 1952, in Calhoun Ga. Son of Albert Joseph Smith and Aileen Freeman.
He is survived by his wife June, Children: Jonathan, Joseph, Ahna, Harry (Alyssa & their daughter Gianna “Toodlepoots”), Jared & Leah of Georgia and their children. His Granddogger Avery and Grandkitties Max, Stella, and Jax. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Aileen Smith.
Harvey grew up in Calhoun, Ga where he attended Calhoun High school. Harvey had a passion for the funeral industry and serving those in need. His passion began in Calhoun, Ga where he worked from a young age at Combs Funeral Home and Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. After leaving Georgia he began traveling the country as an evangelist. After many years in evangelism, he accepted a pastorate in Chiefland, FL. After meeting the love of his life June, he moved to Rockledge, FL and they then decided to open their own funeral home in 1999 and have served families in Brevard County since then. His dedication and compassion for families can never be replaced.
Harvey loved traveling, telling jokes, and watching western shows. One of his favorite quick trips was Key West, FL, His favorite vacation spot was the California coast and driving the PCH. He loved watching Bonanza, taking on the nickname of "Little Joe", the Rifleman, and the Andy Griffith show. He loved spending his Sunday afternoons with his "Toodlepoots" watching Disney. His eyes would light up when she came in the door and he would immediately take her off the see the grandkitties.
Visitation will be held Friday October 1st, 2021 at 11:30am – 1:00pm with services immediately following at Beckman- Williamson Funeral Home, 5400 Village Drive Rockledge, FL 32955. Interment will be at Florida Memorial Gardens at 3:00pm.
